The Suminagashi Studio Set
Discover the quiet beauty of suminagashi, the ancient Japanese art of “floating ink.” This gentle form of marbling dates back over a thousand years and invites you into a meditative practice where ink, water, breath, and environment come together in mesmerizing patterns. With each ripple, you’re not just creating art—you’re connecting to a tradition rooted in mindfulness and the natural world.
The Suminagashi Studio Set is a beautifully curated, fully equipped collection that includes everything you need to get started—from beginner-friendly inks to a wide assortment of paper types. Each component has been thoughtfully selected, reflecting the same tools and materials I use in my own studio practice, ensuring that even beginners can achieve beautiful, satisfying results.
Beautifully presented in a sturdy white magnetic-closure box, this set arrives ready for gifting—to a creative friend or as a meaningful treat for yourself.

- If you are purchasing multiples of one sheet please note that they will be similar but not identical. Due to the hand marbled process, no two are exactly the same.
- Our hand marbled paper features our maker’s mark, an authentic artisan detail, stamped on the reverse, along with possible pencil notes or paint from the marbling process. These markings are not visible from the front and reflect the authentic, artistic nature of our work.
- Sheets are not trimmed so you have the most usable space possible. However, sheets may show smudges or marks from drying clips along the top edges. This is a normal part of the artistic process and does not affect the quality or usability of the paper.
We aim for transparency and provide accurate listings and photos, but colors may vary across screens. If you’re unsure about a color or pattern, please contact before placing your order.
