I began creating inspiration boards many years ago and it all started as a high school class project. All the students in my class were tasked with having to create an inspiration board that would capture "all the things you enjoy". It was an ice breaker at the beginning of a new school year to help students get acquainted with one another. I took the assignment serious and had fun with it! While most students used a standard 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper for their assignment, I remember buying the largest piece of poster board I could find (24"x36"). I remember filling every inch with inspiring quotes and pictures from my Vogue magazine collection. This was the start of my love for collage style art work which has serves as a foundation for many of my creative endeavors in the years to come.
Fast forward to 2013...
When I had an opportunity to design my new studio, I knew that I wanted an oversized inspiration board to be a focal point in my creative space. It continues to display pictures and ephemera collected from travels, color swatches, cut outs from magazines, inspiring quotes, and other random bits that strike my fancy. No matter what day it is, there is always something interesting pinned to the board to provide inspiration.
